AN EXERCISE TO CONNECT WITH YOUR WISDOM BODY

“Yes” is a great power word. We can use Yes! as a way to strengthen the wisdom body. This exercise can be fun and noisy and empowering to do with a group of friends or family members. Everyone stands up and turns to the next person. Next, look each other directly in the eyes and firmly say, “Yes! I can!” to each other.

Now turn to someone else … be aware of the energy exchanged between you. Look into the second person’s eyes and say, “Yes! I can!” Think about your willpower that needs strengthening. “Yes, I can unblock my creativity!” Say it to someone else … really mean it. “Yes, I can make decisions!” Experience the power of Yes! in your body—pump your fist, stamp your foot, create a ruckus. Find one more person, look into his or her eyes, and say with conviction, “Yes! I can!”

This exercise can also be done solo. Just turn to the mirror and look at your image and say, “Yes! I can! Yes! I will!” When you look at yourself in the mirror, your eyes unite with your brain, tapping into the rich connections with your emotions and your physical body. The affirmation “Yes!” helps us to go deeper and connect with vijnana-maya-kosha.

Each “Yes!” helps me find inspiration and dig deep to grasp the energy to give one more yoga class. Yes, I can say no to a jelly doughnut or do my yoga practice even when I don’t feel like it. Yes, I can!
